Back To Hip Hop: Rick Rubin Working With The Clipse
Legendary producer Rick Rubin has been working on tracks for the Clipse’s long-awaited third album this month, the rap duo’s camp tells EW. Rubin, who signed the Clipse to Columbia Records shortly after taking over as the label’s cochairman in 2007, has completed one tune with them so far in a Malibu studio; they plan to work with him on one to two more in the coming weeks. Though Rubin began his career in the ‘80s working with acts like Run-D.M.C., LL Cool J, and the Beastie Boys, he’s more recently focused on producing rock and pop bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers and Weezer—along with occasional high-profile forays into hip-hop like Jay-Z’s “99 Problems” in 2003. Needless to say, the thought of the bearded studio wizard crafting tracks for critical darlings the Clipse is enough to make many rap fans salivate.
The Clipse is currently aiming for a late-summer release for Til The Casket Drops, which will feature contributions from a wide range of beatsmiths. First single "Kinda Like a Big Deal," produced by DJ Khalil and featuring Kanye West, is set to drop March 9.

Police Investigate Who Leaked Photo Of Battered Rihanna
(CNN) — Los Angeles police have launched an internal investigation to determine who leaked a picture of a bruised and battered Rihanna to the media.
The close-up photo of the singer — with contusions on her forehead and below her eyes, and cuts on her lip — was published on the entertainment Web site TMZ Thursday.
Twenty-year-old Rihanna was allegedly attacked by her boyfriend, singer Chris Brown, on a Los Angeles street before the two were to perform at the Academy Awards on Feb. 8.
“The unauthorized release of a domestic violence photograph immediately generated an internal investigation,” an L.A. police spokesman said in a statement. “The Los Angeles Police Department takes seriously its duty to maintain the confidentiality of victims of domestic violence. A violation of this type is considered serious misconduct, with penalties up to and including termination.”
The chief investigator in the case had told CNN earlier that authorities had tried to guard against leaks. Detective Deshon Andrews said he had kept the case file closely guarded and that no copies had been made of the original photos and documents.
Brown was arrested on Feb. 8 in connection with the case and and booked on suspicion of making criminal threats.
Authorities are trying to determine whether Brown should face domestic violence-related charges.

SUGE KNOCKED OUT AGAIIIIN!!!!!
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Rap music mogul Marion “Suge” Knight was treated in the hospital for facial injuries after being injured in a fight at a local hotel, Scottsdale police said on Monday.
Security at the W hotel in the city near Phoenix called police after two groups of guests exchanged “heated words in the VIP area” early on Monday, Scottsdale police said in a news release.
Shortly after police officers arrived at the hotel, they saw a man punch Knight, 43, twice in the head, police said.
Officers used Taser stun guns to break up the fracas and arrested two men — identified as Robert Carnes and Leon Anderson — who were subsequently charged with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct, the police report added.
Knight, co-founder of the rap label Death Row Records, was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for facial injuries, police said.
Scottsdale police did not immediately return a call seeking further information on Knight’s injuries or condition. The Scottsdale hospital cited in the police report said it had no record of having treated him.
Knight who helped promote such rap stars as Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shakur in the 1990s, was in the Phoenix area to attend the National Basketball Association All-Star game on Sunday night.
His career has been overshadowed in recent years by run-ins with the law.
In August, he was arrested in Las Vegas on drug and assault charges after he was suspected of punching his girlfriend and pulling a knife on her during an argument outside a strip club.
Knight was jailed in October 1996 for violating his probation on a previous assault case by allegedly kicking a man during a scuffle at a Las Vegas hotel.
